Lady Bug Control
The ladybug, or Asian lady beetle, seeks warm places to spend the colder months. Any number of ladybugs inside a home can become a nuisance. According to experts, a proactive measure is to seal or screen any openings greater than 1/16 of an inch. Areas around windows, doors, plumbing, and cracks in woodwork or brickwork are potential entry points. Using weather-stripping or foam caulking is recommended.
Ensure attic covers are secure and vents are properly tightened. Board siding nailed to wall studs can provide easy access points, and sealing these after infestation may worsen the problem.
Ladybugs come in many different species. The red-spotted variety is the most common, but they can also appear in orange, red, or brown. The larvae are typically twice as long as the adults.
